Flexibility in the power system

This report describes the Danish power market challenges dealing with more and more intermittent and volatile RE power production over time and how Denmark as a frontrunner will secure sufficient flexibility and capacity at lowest possible cost through numerous different solutions – of which several can be applied and used in a Chinese setting. The last part of the report pays particularly attention to the possible flexibility available from the existing Chinese, coal-based power plant fleet and what the overall economic dynamics of flexibility from power plants looks like in the light of current wind power curtailment in China.
